There was a scene where an older guy was looking weirdly at a 14 year old girl that was wearing shorts. Ew.
Also the story in itself is not for me, but the author's writing style is intriguing!

5. No fantasy in 2/3 in the book, then the last 1/3 full with it? Doesn't fit the worldbuilding at all.
6. 'White girl savior in exotic setting.
7. The taxi driver was corrupt. Duh.
8. Feels very mix' n match with culture and arabic (?) fairytales.
9. Pacing was off.
Still happy I finally got this one of my tbr. Also hyped I reached my 40 books challenge. Time to change it to 50 for sense of accomplishment.

Many thoughts. Not sure if I like this. Very mediocre. 4.0/5 max.
1. The male mc is called S H A N E
2. Miscommunication trope in the first 2/3 of the book.
3. Weird cryptic underground cult that has some chapters to themselves and have ominous plans that involve killing the mcs? But turn out to be the good ones (not in a 'that's a cool plotttwist kind of way)
4. I have no idea wtf happened in the last 100 pages.

I've had this book lying around for about 5 years I think. I started it very soon after I bought it, found it horrible and difficult to comprehend, stopped reading and never picked it up again. But now that I'm moving out of my room I decided to pick it up again just to be done with it. First thoughts: unnecessary stupid ronance plot, the kind I hate. Urban fantasy without focus on the fantasy? But easy to read eh
