That's exactly how I feel every time I see something I want to read that is narrated by him. Nooooo! I thought I was the only one.

I’m also not a Joel Leslie fan. I guess I won’t be listening to this one.

UGHHHH!! 😭😭WHYY? Try speeding it up, I usually do that then his narration becomes tolerable.

I thought he was a good fit for the Skyler Foxe audios and for Femme, but everything else I've tried with him just doesn't work. 🙈

Ugh, I was so happy this morning when I downloaded the audio on my app, sat in my car and pressed play. And then the intro started. Let's just say that it was very anticlimactic. 😂

I love the original series, minus book 5 - I pretend that that one doesn't exist 😂, so I have high hopes for this one. 🤞🙂

You're definitely not alone. I just can't with his voice and the way he "narrates". I literally cannot concentrate on the story and characters, all I hear is JL's voice saying something. 😂

I've tried. It doesn't help. 😭😭 It takes me 15 minutes to get to my work by car, and I couldn't even listen to the whole 15 minutes. I have no idea what I've listened to, I don't remember anything of the story, I can only hear his voice in my head. 😣

The first audiobooks with him I tried listening to were by N.R. Walker. It was terrible. 😣 I would literally listen to a couple of minutes and couldn't go on.

LOL Just my luck to have one of my most anticipated books narrated by one of the very few narrators I can't listen to. 😝

Was it the Red Dirt ones? His accent in those was atrocious. He also butchered the Samoan accent of a character in the last Skyler Foxe book he narrated and that took a lot of the shine off for me. I could barely listen to that one. 🙈

Hi, uhm... I only listened to his How to Bang a Billionaire audiobook. And I liked it, mostly.
But I had some problems with his “passionate voice”... like when Caspian said “oh, Arden!”, the vibrato was so strong I started to think of Elvis singing 🤣🙈

Bummer. 😢 You will have to switch to reading. 🤞🏾 He was amazing in Femme. But other than that he is usually just tolerable..

He narrated most of her older books, like Spencer Cohen, Galaxies and Oceans, Finders Keepers, On Davis Row, Evolved ... and yes, Red Dirt ones, too. Those are some of my favorites by NRW, all of them available on Scribd, and I couldn't listen to any of them. 😣 I agree with you. His Australian accent was so bad. No one talks like that in real life.

Yeah, switching to reading. 😕 There are some narrators that I find tolerable, but he is not one of them. 😂

He narrates all of Lily Morton’s books and I just wish she’d find a different narrator! He talks like he’s in pain and he’s so nasal! The vibrato is way too much! Who talks like that? Snjez, my most favorite m/m book was narrated by a narrator I don’t like and I’m still not over it! 😭

I listened to a sample of this and I’m glad someone else said it cause I really didn’t like the voice 💀 his voice just doesn’t suit the words! The narrator for the first series started bad but he’s grown on me so much, I’m sad he’s not narrating this series too 😭

☝☝ This! Yes, yes, yes! You nailed it. Exactly what I don't like about his narration. It doesn't sound natural at all.

I avoid audiobooks narrated by him, I don't even have to listen to the sample. But the name of the narrator for this one wasn't on Scribd yet, so I just started listening. I didn't get very far. 😬
It's really shame when a narrator ruins a book for you. 😕

I feel your pain Snjez 😔 I can usually tolerate him if he doesn't do foreign accents though, because if I didn't tolerate it I wouldn't be able to listen to half of the mm audios I wanted to lol
But oh my God the way he mangles any non English accent is becoming almost legendary.🤦

LOL On the other side, there are narrators who are wonderful, who pull you into the story, make you love the characters, and even make the story better for you in the end. 😊

Sometimes I feel like I'm cursed. The narrators I love often narrate books I'm not interested in, and the other way around. 😂

LOL Exactly! I've only listened to 10 minutes or so and there's a female character who, I think, is supposed to have Southern accent (AmE) 😣.
'Half of the mm audios' we want to listen to is about right. 😤 I know some readers love him. I wish I could borrow their ears. 😅

Oh No!!! Even if I am okay with him sometimes - depending on the character he is reading, he is such a wrong voice-choice for any werewolf story.

I tried to read this but I can’t deal with every character that comes into the scene being described by their skin color. That was just in the first two chapters. Does that continue ?

So glad you mentioned it, ivy, because I noticed it, too. Glad I'm not the only one. 🙂 I find it very annoying, not sure if it's so important for the story or not. 🤷‍♀️ I'm only at chapter 3, had to start from the beginning, so I don't know if it continues or not.

I think all the characters were introduced that way, but you do eventually meet less people so it gets less annoying. (pretty sure)

Snjez, I went and listened to a very small clip of the audio sample before I described what he sounds like. I did enjoy Femme like Shile mentioned before but I think that’s it. I don’t understand the allure with him. I cringe now every time I hear his voice. I thought maybe only my ears were broken but now I know many others agree with me.

I know his narration works for a lot of readers. I guess we just hear differently. 😂 At least we're not alone. 😉
I managed to listen to one audio narrated by him, something with dragons, but that's it. 🤷‍♀️
