This is my first masterton & his description of people, especially women is giving me pause. Not to mention, a tone I’m noticing when it comes to the people of color in this. The story is good so far, but i’m keeping my eyes peeled.

The story is good but it’s all starting to crumble for me right now. The dialogue is just…do people talk like this? Maybe I just don’t know people. Maybe it’s me. There’s a typo at the end of a chapter, “What are you going to tell them, Nathan? Are you going to tell them truth?” that made me chuckle because I’m 12 years old apparently.

It’s official, I just don’t like cops. Literal or fictional. Every time they are in stories they’re just so contrived & cliche. Dad jokes and authoritarianism exemplified. Barf.
