The family opposition just doesn't ring true. And that's precisely for the reason that Oriana and Gabriel point out.
Yeah, it makes for lots of fictional melodrama, but its not the way it works IRL in a fundamental lifestyle. I don't even think Daisy--who is the most acclimated, and has the most hatred to the old cult lifestyles would be this anti IRL.

I don't think families with this kind of background would be against their getting together young and heading towards marriage. In my experience, they're instead everything they can to encourage an early marriage.
