Like book 1 there are too many characters all with descriptive names. I liked chapter 1 being in the present. I do not like any of the characters except one, and the author killed her off early. The others are wimpy including the guy in a dress.. The “bad guys” are over the top evil abusers. I will finish it and give the author one more try in book 3 as I like the subject, I am hoping the bleakness improves.
