hot take: jess doesn't need to have a pov in this book. it is quite literally just her over and over again saying she hopes her past doesn't get out. we are almost at the end of this novel and she does not have a plot line. even the bits of her past we get could've been better reconstructed to be things told on the podcast that are framed as unverifiable gossip
