Hmm. Astrobiology class in 2 hours - which I haven't completed all the reading for - and I'm sat here reading Victorian Gothic horror.

Haha, yeah, I agree it all looks pretty good on paper - however, I can provide you with a long list of references that unequivocally point to the fact that I'm a lost cause. :P
Awesome! :D I took some of my gear up to Galloway Forest Park for a week last year - best view of the night sky I've ever had in the UK, by far!I dabbled in Cosmology last year, and will be doing a whole course on it next year. Totally blows my mind! :)
Yeah, the costs soon mount up, that's very true. I've melted more than one credit card on astro gear! >_<But yeah, it'll be so worth it once he's at uni doing what he loves - and doing you proud! :)
