finished. I'll review later. The last play was The Bacchae, with a Bacchal frenzy and a frivolously cruel Dionysos.

Finished Helen, where the real Helen is in Egypt and Paris has captured merely a puff of air, making the Iliad pointless. It's a curious anti-war play. I'm wondering what goddess is referred to within the context of Demeter by: "And this dread diety who goes Blazoned with glory on every hand-- She pardons none who taste the forbidden fruit "

Finished The Woman of Troy It's mainly just really sad. It's focuses on the captured Trojan noble woman two days after the fall of Troy and centers on Hecabe - the Queen and mother of Hector and many others. Depressing parts by Cassandra and Andromache only make it worse. Helen adds some substance as she stands in such a contrasting position, and her words are curious, and not that of one accepting any blame.

Just finished Ion, the 6th play by Euripides I've read. Either this was really nice, or I've begun to enjoy Euripides more.
