11/22/14 I love Aliette de Bodard's short stories, so I had high hopes. A little way in, and I'm realizing that this is basically a murder mystery set in an Aztec civilization. With magic. Because I'm listening to the audio book and the narrator is a very British man, it doesn't even feel like it's set in an Aztec civilization. More like Downton Abbey with bonus sacrificial parrots and weasels. Kind of bored so far.
