Listening to the American audiobook while reading the British hardback. In the American version they use “innocent” to describe Evangeline’s smile, but “quixotic” in the British version. I think of quixotic as an unrealistic idealism. Innocence is more a lack of guile or malice. I wonder why the UK edition made that change.
