"Hence, every one of spirit's shapes will appear retroactively, as an exteriorization which is interiorized, making each a kind of imaginary presence, a spectral mode of being their past selves. In this sense, the Aufhebung can be interpreted as the labour of speculative mourning." (146)

Almost as hard as Schatzsuche… I used to think only 40% of this was flying over my hear. Raising this estimate to about 90 after finishing part 2

Part 2 (Hegel on God) contains an amazing vindication of ‘Vorstellung’. Its not a projection or ‘figurative process.’
Representation (implying as it does alienation and the pain of separateness) cant be projection but must be the very way on which the truth is revealed! This is because alienation and the pain of separation are installed in the truth itself, which is Jesus.
This text is phenomenal.

Wow! Wow!
‘What in the beginning was an accidental fact … is changed through continual repetition of the same gestures, through practice, achieving the integrity of a ‘form’ (eidos).
…
HABIT is the process whereby the contingent becomes essential. … Habit would not have this power of plasticity if it did not … manifest a virtuality already inscribed within essence itself’ (74)
