Truman, Truman, Truman! I liked Truman as a person but he certainly blew it when he picked Forrestal as Secretary of the Navy. Forrestal was simply not the 'best man for the job' to be Secretary of the Navy. It was not until I read this book that I realized we did not enter WW2 until September 1944 and then only to 'button-up' this war. Nor did I realize that we lost Korea to MacArthur's arrogance advanced age.
