The book says Zenobia was descended from "Cleopatra the Great". Two things. One, Zenobia wasn't, but her husband Odenathus may have been. Two, Kleopatra VII was never known as "Cleopatra the Great", indeed the only place I've seen her named as such is Joann Fletcher's 2008 biography "Cleopatra the Great" - and let's just say I have a professional difference of opinion with Ms Fletcher's postulations.

Must admit, my suspicions are raised with the mention of Vaballathus as Zabdas' son... He was Zenobia's son as far as I know, and in the story Zabdas admits to a sexual attraction to his half-sister. I think I know where this is going...
