a statement that surprised me is when the narrator said that the whole unwinding prosse take only a mear three hours. One trait to describe Lev is clever is shown, when Lev came up with a way to get food from dead animals on the train rails, When he was going on the track with CyFi. "We walk a few miles down the tracks, marking each dead critter with a stick. Then, When the next train comes through, we backtrack. Anything we find that's not marked is fresh."(123) Lev said. This exhibits Lev's cleverness by finding a way to get food.

A funny point in the book is when Connor and Risa start clapping and everyone else panics. They were outside of their school and surrounded by cops. Risa told Connor to start clapping. A student "drops his backpack and stares at them in utter horror. 'Clappers!' he screams." (87-88) "It echoes in the kids around them." (88) This shows how a student is fearful of people clapping, yelling alerting kids causing panic.

One importnet part was when Conor, Risa, and Lev meet. Conor is runing away from being unwound, and Risa is also. Conor pulls the tithe, Lev out of his car and he gets hit with a tranquilizer. Conor takes him. Conor and Lev run to woods as well, and Conor say, "Whatever you're running from, you won't get away unless we work together"(38).This shows them comeing together to work together to survive.
