i love this book! Idk what it is but Clarke manages to create a sort of dread or foreboding that I've yet to encounter in any books that aren't specifically horror. It takes a while but I'm invested in these characters like a y/a novel. And at the same time it has a lot to say about British aristocracy in the early 19th century. Loved the encounter with Lord Byron and the nod to Mary Shelly.
Excited for the end.

i gotta say het voelde een beetje als een karweitje om door een boek van 1000 pagina's in die Austen-esque social comedy stijl te komen. Maar inmiddels heeft t me echt opgeslokt. De setting van de aristocratie in Londen heeft echt n supergroot contrast met de duistere horror-achtige mythologie van engelse magie en de Raven King. Erg dope ben hype!
