He introduces a new perspective on the poor white population of America and their lack of evolution. I love this book, similar to how I love educated by Tara Westover, but I love hillbilly elegy differently. Although it is, so far, overwhelmingly inspiring, like Educated, there is a realness factor that makes me realistically see life. It annihilates prejudice about the white working class I didn't know I had.

Reading because the movie was amazing. Such a clear and strong voice so far-- yet simple, reflecting the range of vocabulary he had as a child.
