Yes definitely, they are worth thinking about. I may be pessimistic, but sometimes I wonder if it is really possible to cross the huge cultural bridge between the two different perspectives... you know, the Western perspective as opposed to the Buddhist view...

It's not pessimistic, it's just reality, I don't think it's possible to fully accept it. People aren't born with blank minds and people don't change so easily. However, one does not have to be a Buddhist in order to investigate their ideas (not just theirs, of course). Perhaps we're missing their point completely and misinterpreting almost everything, but hey, what harm can come from rational people investigating interesting ideas? :D
