I think out of the 6 wives, the ones that strike me with great sadness is Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn in which both weren't able to satisfy the king with an heir as their pregnancies kept resulting in still borns and miscarriages. Catherine was refused to see her daughter as she withered away and Anne Boleyn met her fate being beheaded because the King grew tired of her and moved on to his next mistress.

I've been reading about previous monarchs and their reigns - and King Henry VIII and his 6 wives saddens me the most. There was SO much infidelity and sadness. His wives were exhausting their bodies due to getting pregnant and miscarrying over and over. Or their children dying in their very little years. Fearing for their life knowing that King Henry VIII would either have them beheaded or incarcerated because he simply grew tired of him and had a mistress after another. There's just SO much in this era that is so interesting. I can't stop reading about it! This book is so great talking about each wife and what they endured being married to the King.
