frodo in the book is slightly less boring, probably because I can read more about the inner turmoil between frodo, sam, and gollum while the ring/sauron tries to play with both their minds

helms deep and the march of the ents were two of my favorite battles in fantasy settings ever they were just so well done theatrically and its amazing to see them being just as marvelous in the written word

the pacing, superb! the lore, superb! the ents, SUPERB!
