This book should have gotten a much stronger edit pre-publication. There are some mild grammar problems, and I found a misspelled word. But more irritatingly, there are some POV issues - a first-person narrator visiting the San Francisco exposition for the first time shouldn't know all about it already. This is a case of an author being too excited about her research, and no one reining her in.
