"Earl brought peace to those around him somehow... that I still try to understand to this day. I think some of it was through music, but that might have been an "extra," a vehicle, a way to express himself to the world that he was a nice guy." Reminds me of a comment by Marty Stuart of how Earl brought everyone together "without saying two words" - something like that. One of my favorite things about the man.
