That's the very story I read in this collection last night. She and M.R. James are probably the best writers of pure ghost stories. I'd love to hear what you think of the rest of her "ghosties" when you get to this one.

I'm going to start it later today. I also have a dvd called "Shades of Darkness - Six Mysterious Tales of the Paranormal" where "The Lady Maid Bell" is the stories dramatized.
