Quite the horrifying read. Of interest i found how nazi soldiers during the 1942-1943 years sought for there pre-war identities, as if their participation in the eastern front war eroded their sense of dignity and humanity. The author tells us it was a very horrific process to see in their letters to their family/friends back home in Germany. Interesting perspective on the horrors of nazism from that of a participant
