We must remember to keep him at the helm. Even if the ship goes down after a long journey or sink at the docks. We sink in him as much as we journey in him. Solitude is easy for me. Being in Christ means solitude all the time is not an option. I am connected to all who are in Christ and we are being built into a holy temple. No matter what I am not alone. Amen!

What a chapter! Christ is not enough, he is more! Paul says to him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think... What encouragement?! What glory is this?! What kind of God is that?! Chapter 14 of this book hit me harder than anything in a long time. I type this in tears knowing what a savior I have. In whom all the pleasures evermore are hidden. All the riches evermore are hidden. Amen!

As christians, we are dealers. No, not that kind. Glory dealers! No, this glory doesn't lose half its value once we give it away nor do we give it others in order to receive compensation. The analogy starts to break down, sorry. We give glory to God. He is worthy of it. In return he gives us purpose, joy and pleasure forevermore. How? Brushing teeth, drinking water, and paying our bills on time. Simple obedience!

Little obedience leads to great glory. Trying so hard to create our future causes us to lose sight of what God has done in the past. We become discouraged when our dream job or status in life isn't what we thought it would be by now. This only gives birth to discontentment. Full grown becomes resentment. Ultimately leads to death. Discontentment doesn't trust God. Resentment is angry with God. Death is separation.

Simple obedience. Joyful dish washing, laundry, and helping that little old lady with the jar of whatever off the top shelf at the grocery. That is the obedience that is done in the Lord and is not in vain. Boring, to us, tasks are never boring to God.
His kingdom is not of this world. That is, its origins are not worldly, fleshly. It conquers the world via death, on a cross and to ourselves. His ways are higher!

My need to know “me” gets swallowed up in the glory of the One who made me—the One who holds me in His hand. What a glorious thought! I could give you the mere tertiary look at my life and describe it in a nominal way. When I ponder my life, each part ought to start with "to the glory of God...". To the glory of God I do yard work, drink coffee, prep lessons for God's people. In other words, I get to not have to!

We can't add Jesus to our self created life. We are either in him or not. No neutrality. It's all of Christ for all of life, not halfsies. Can't go dutch on this one.
Always good to be reminded that Christ did not die so you might live. He died so you might die in him. And he lives so you might live in him. Romans 6 is clear about this.

When we seek to create ourselves, we become tiny. If we understand our lives and our story is the same thing to the world. Then when we tell someone they are not what they claim to be, (ie, gender, sex, species). It's not illogical for them to say you are denying their existence or hating them. We have dissed the author, cancelled the book deal, and burned their canon thus far.
