Some great insights on Augustine/from Augustine’s work, how it connects with and responds to modern philosophers’ work, and how it applies to various areas of life. Makes me want to read Confessions even more!

Neat book so far! Essentially he has been building up the case leading to “Our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee” (quote of Augustine, though not yet mentioned, will likely be mentioned soon). The author discusses various modern existentialist philosophers, and makes the connection of Augustine being a “proto-existentialist” who arrived at a conclusion that rings true even into modernity.
