Having explored a whole host of battle sites and looked at the Welsh traditional tales, I'm starting to get a picture in my mind who this Arthur is, for me the strongest candidate so far is Cadell of Powys, cant wait to find out more, really enjoying this so far even if the dates and names can get me tied in knots!

Chapter 6 was a very interesting one. The Saxon legend says that Hengest and Horsa landed in Kent, Mike puts a proposition forward that the famed Isle of Thanet could have been in Yorkshire. Analysing the Brythonic names in detail and learning the meanings through modern Welsh it is interesting to think that Vortigern called on them to fight the Picts and Scots, landing in Yorkshire seems more logical. Mind is racing
