Okay, so now Amanda likes the oxen enough that she's given each one a name. She is becoming less bratty, probably due to the numerous deaths she's witnessed at this point and her own near escape from death. I'm starting to like her more. She's only here because her dad gambled away all their money and had to run from people he owes, and he sold all her late mom's jewelry to fund their trip. I think he sucks at life!

She DARES insult the oxen’s facial features?! 😱 Nevermind that they’re adorable in their hideousness, clearly this girl has no idea how important they are to her very survival. 🙄

I know, I think they're so sturdy and cute! She did finally redeem herself later where the oxen are concerned. Oh, by the way, speaking of underappreciated animals, on Halloween weekend my husband and I went away and saw what had to be dozens of vultures roosting in a tree, flying in and out and sitting on top of businesses and billboards! It was very cool - even better, we later passed a Victorian-style home with a bunch of vultures sitting on the roof! A great gothic sight for the weekend.
Perfect timing on their part! :D One flew low over the yard yesterday, which really freaked the wee songbirds—they hid for like 5 minutes, lol—but he was just looking for a tree in the woods to roost. Bless. I told him to bring his buddies next time, heheh.
