"Marse Wes he just set there a looking at that boy. Didn't nary a living word pass his lips for nigh onto ten minutes. Then he opened his mouth and started in to swear. Man'n boy I done heard me some cussing in my time, but Marse Wes' swearing that ther day was purely admiration and a Glory! Looks up and the leaves on that ol' oak tree forty feet overhead was curling up'n turning brown! "
