Very good so far. Standard diplomatic and political history that draws heavily on Vietnamese language sources to discuss how the Diem regime set the U.S. up for a long, bitter insurgency in Vietnam. I didn't know much about the Cao Dai, Hoa Hao and Binh Xuyen politico-religious organizations before reading this book.
