I can't finish this. I love historical fiction and I love other books McCullough has written but the first two in this series are filled with too much detail. I never know what's happening or what the story is. Lots of side characters with no clear connection to the main families the novel focuses on. I'm going to skip the 3rd in the series, Fortune's Favorites, as it seems the same, and try the 4th, Ceasar's Women.
