This is such a hard but good read. Carl Trueman discusses various thinkers of different ages that influence how our modern culture’s morality or lack thereof. He gives examples of ideas that they have perpetuated and how those ideas are now being lived out in society. It is already a lot to think about, this is definitely not a book for light reading.

What I meant to say - the thinkers he’s following so far (in Part 1) are Reiff, Taylor, and Macintyre and how they have influenced various ideas that are now popular in our modern culture and have now contributed to the morality(or lack thereof) of the society at large. Expressive individualism, the psychological man, third world culture, emotivism, he talks about the anti historical tendencies of the third world culture the anti culture that it is, the role of deathworks, and forgetfulness.
