The character seems too much like the author. Hyper focused on appearances & inner misogyny that pleasing everyone around this is what's to be expected & created for happiness, which isn't giving Mallory any really good traits in my book. Makes her look like a doormat who hates herself. Not cool & really difficult to read.

Okay, the only thing I liked of this book was Mallory making Rachel, the grandmother go to her grandson & tell him that she was wrong &that she has their blessing because she most def "owed me" in Mallorys words lol

Man, this is kind of cringy. Dialogue is bit boring too. Instead of parading as "women's fiction" just say romance. Won't kill you. Plus, it won't be judged as harshly, because right now, it reads as a watered down, socially awkward romance that has potential but won't reach it cause of its fear of being portrayed as "smut". You'd have a lot more license & fun otherwise.
