Either Ethan's crazy or knows Jack from before, bc he behaves as if he has a long lasting relatiomship with him which would he explains why he trusts him so much. As if Jack'd forgotten their previous encounters and friendship.
I'm usually not a fan of alterning timeslines narration but here I'm intrigued and immersed in both then and now.
