An intriguing read from the writer of The Three Musketeers and The Count Of Monte Cristo.
The first 20 pages or so can be extremely off-putting. One man is disembowelled by a baying mob, while his partner has his skull smashed then his face shot off. I'll say no more as it gets worse!
IF you can read past them, then the story is definitely worth reading to find out about the Tulip in the title...
