“Who belongs to the warhorses?” the boy cried.
Jacek shot to his feet. “What is it?”
The boy jabbed his forefinger over his shoulder. “They’re trying to steal them!”

The final version was just delivered to the copy editor! I have no idea how the story grew to 154K words. I guess I enjoyed visiting with Jacek & Oliwia too much. I'm so relieved ... and excited!

Almost there ... the manuscript is done! Next up: copy edit on March 20. The cover's done, and I'll be posting that here soon. Woo hoo! Manuscript is with the editor now, which is always such a great feeling. The title is officially changed to "The Hussar's Duty," and the final cover should be coming soon! I'm catching my breath.

Jacek sighed. “No, I expect you don’t.”
This day had been coming, yet she wasn’t prepared. “So you would lead Filip into battle where he could be killed.” Her tone carried no sting, merely resignation.
“It may not come to battle. But Liwi, it's time. He is ready. You will not be able to hold him back. Try, and you will only earn his contempt."
