This is light and breezy for a bio but man there's almost no primary sources about this woman and there's so many times that the author has phrases like "I am SURE that [Agrippina] would NEVER grovel to her brother."

I'm not sure if it's terrible or genius that this book opens with "Roman history? Yeah, it's truthiness is all on the level of that story about David Cameron allegedly fucking a pig." Like it's accurate but...

(Sidenote: They should have kept the British title for this book.)

Tam-Htab I read one of the author's other books and I just do not care for that style at all.

Ace Their house style is so weird???

It's so weird reading the word "boink" used seriously in this kind of book lol

Tam-Htab Yep! To be fair, I really need to stop reading that compendium sort of pop history. I was wondering if a single-focus book might be better, but it sounds like no (for my personal tastes, obvs).
