Why do “”contemporary philosophers”” write this? I would enjoy their arguments more if they didn’t jokingly allude to Nike commercials and such so often. This is middle school humor and is very jarring for their first attempt at Shakespeare scholarship.

Very funny but horribly unprofessional and wrong to offhandedly say Freud and Fliess had an “intense homoerotic hatred” for each other. Also unnecessary to quote Spinoza and explain the whole of psychoanalytical history when neither have any relevance AT ALL to the book, Hamlet, or any argument they’re making. This is the most self-masturbatory prose I have ever seen in my life.

How in God’s name do you compare and contrast Schmitt and Benjamin and somehow come to the conclusion that Benjamin was some kind of failed student of his. Right after saying you don’t believe Schmitt’s whole Nazi business is relevant IN THE SECTION ABOUT SOVEREIGNTY AND FEAR OF “INTERNAL CORRUPTION”??????????
