A sad part of the book is when we are first introduced to the main character, Henry. When we meet Henry we learn that his wife Eathel died. This has changed Henry, making him alone and not enthusiastic about anything.¨Deep down there was an Ethel shaped hole in Henry´s life, without her, all he felt was a draft of loneliness¨(4).This proves Henry is alone and not enthusiastic by saying with a draft of loneliness.

A scary part was when the FBI showed up at the club. When Henry and Keiko was at the Black Elks club, the FBI showed up for bootlegging since the club was Jamaican Ginger.¨But as shocked as he was, Stunned was more like it, Keiko looked terrified. Henry felt the heavy hands of the two FBI men as they escorted them both.¨(p57) This is scary because having the FBI just come and then carry you with everyone in a panic .
