All the essays so far are extremely informative for the history of immigration law, specifically how the laws have been sculpted to exclude and degrade any identity outside a patriarchal, hetero normative structure. I didn't prefer the essay by Erica Rand, the analogies and theoretical underpinnings were not strong enough to stick to her desired critical points towards queering lady liberty.
