This continues to be a very sobering read. The author provides keen insights into the specific dysfunctions of conservative Christianity and his 24 subject have harrowing tales to tell of the Christians they had to deal with.

This is a serious book. I started at the end and really like Marriott's suggestions for what we in the Church should be doing differently. Looping back to the start, I am amazed at his thoroughness and humility in setting up the book. Next up: the middle part!

I started reading this book with the final section. The author is a conservative Christian but he is willing to acknowledge that the way we "do Church" may be flawed. He says some leave Christianity because they felt they were lied to. He says the Church should discuss some of the problematic aspects of our faith within the Church, rather than letting believers first find out about them outside Church.
