"The Holy Night" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
It wasn't my favorite poem of hers. Meaningful? definitely. But... some of the others in the collection are much better--especially Anne Bronte's.

I don't think I was in the mood for this one. It's good--better than the others in this anthology. BUT... it didn't grab me like it should have. I'll read again once I've finished the book.

The Fir Tree by Hans Christian Andersen was just as beautifully cautionary this go round as any other time.

I enjoyed Christina Rossetti's "A Christmas Carol," obviously. But Christmas at Red Butte was delightful. It has a slight feel of The Gift of the Magi without feeling like a copy at all.

"The Gift of the Magi" by O'Henry. One of my all-time favorite stories. Tonight I thought of something I'd never really considered before. If you want to say one "gave more" than the other, it would have to be Jim. Della chopped off her hair knowing it would grow back, but you can't get back what he sold. A "replacement" for a previous gift doesn't exist.

"Epiphany" by Rossetti. I've never read this poem before, but oh... how simple and meaningful! I loved it.
