I lost it. Just sobbed. So many lives were lost on both sides. I know war is devastating, but we are so often shielded from the detail of the horrors.

Devastating. Im honestly wondering why I thought I would have the emotional fortitude to read this.

As the death toll mounts, this book gets harder to read. As the troops interact more with Vietnamese civilians, this book gets harder to read. But I suppose it wasn’t intended to be an easy read.

This is a difficult read. Partially because of military jargon, and partially because of how devastating the content is.
