Lauren I've been wanting to read this series for awhile but can't find it for free. Hee I gotten greedy! So is it worth the money?

I'd say the premise is original. I am disappointed by the lack of a steamy payoff, though. I was prepared for the book to be a clean read. There were hints throughout the book that a clean book usually wouldn't include, so I thought I might be wrong here. When the love scene finally emerged by the end of the book, it was just unsatisfactory. It wasn't precisely fade to black, but it wasn't explicit either.

It's a feminist book as it features the divorce laws during that period. I appreciate the historical details included by the author. For a historical buff such as yourself, I think you would appreciate this part of the book.

The heroine, Cordelia can be a bit off-putting as she is very austere and cold. However, I identify with her, so I get where she comes from.

To me, this was a good read, but not something I would read over and over again. I liked her writing style , so I think I will read the first book in this series.

Kitcatscratch I really like Erin Satie and "Lover's Knot" is probably one of my favorite books though I rec it with hesitance because it is a bit quirky with main characters that make me think of a HR Sid and Nancy for some really strange reason.
