He absolutely didn’t do freak- outs or tears. It wasn’t a guy thing. He’d decided long ago it was an actual phobia. One created by a lifetime of living with his mother’s bipolar disease and his hopeless attempts to help her. In fact, that experience with dependence, neediness, clinginess, and self- absorption had created a dysfunctional distaste for any hint of that within a woman & was why Taft didn't do serious.
