Ive tried sailing the seven seas for a pdf and couldn’t finish, i’ve tried renting it from the library and couldn’t finish, so i caved and used one of my boyfriend’s audible credits to listen. I’m still waiting for it to get interesting and for the MCs to have literally any chemistry at all. Also it wouldn’t be a SJM novel if it didn’t have a million adjectives and unnecessary fluff. Newayz i’m not convinced everyone who died at the beginning is actually dead

I think one of the reason’s I dislike this book so much is SJM is trying to create this feminist, thinks for herself, liberated type of MC but she adds nothing new to the conversation. She’s fake woke feminist & the book, esp. Hunt’s internal monologue, is so painfully filled w internalized misogyny. Bryce is the epitome of the “I’m not like other girls” trope and it’s BORING. Total “Cool Girl” yuck
