College grammar class changed my perspective: there is no "wrong" grammar... Rather, there are different kinds of grammar. I like the start of this book, with its discussion of the 'Ebonics' movement and how it has affected school children. That by denying a child's language, we are denying them as a person. That we must connect with the child to connect with their language. It is a lot to think about already.
