Wow! The first 80 pages of this book astonish me. It's ability to encourage me to analyse and reconsider everything about human nature and society is unprecedented.
What do we consider part of 'human nature' versus learned behavior? This book goes well beyond economy, growth, and our environmental crisis. And yet it sets an incredibly cogent argument for our process of arriving here, spanning hundreds of years!
