The book is filled with color, the pictures of crayons on almost every page, old advertisements, and pictures of all the boxes the crayons have ever been sold in. The evolution of the crayon, how their use inspired artists, and children who would become artists, is well documented in this great picture book.

What a great idea for a book! Crayons are one of the greatest inventions ever. Almost child has used a crayon, at one time or another. They are used by adults too, Restaurants started putting them out, with a color page, to keep children occupied. One thing I remember from my childhood is that I didn't like the smell of crayons. I still don't. Some crayons worked great and others didn't. I don't know why.
