This was a very unique retelling of Milan and not something I’d normally choose to read on my own. However, I really enjoyed it. I wish that it was a bit longer because I wanted to learn more about the characters (good and bad) as well as see how the humans integrated into the Deaxtru society. Will definitely add this series to my TBR pile

Very cute story too if not a bit light on the development of the different paranormal races. The bones are there but there is definitely room to expand the world further. I’d like to know more about Nia and Xavier in general because lots of things weren’t included.

I have never liked Alice in Wonderland and have always thought that Peter Pan was reeeally creepy. I almost skipped this one when I learned that it was a mashup of the two but glad I didn’t. Once it got going, it was a good read and I’m interested in reading the second book.

Really enjoyed everything about this story. My only criticism is I wish it were a bit longer and included Ryland’s POV so that we could have seen more of the story. Really recommend if you enjoy fantasy in a medieval setting.

This was an okay start to the series but that’s all it was. It was clearly meant to get you interested enough to read the rest of the series but it was more frustrating than anything else. We never learn the full truth about Tristin or what was actually done to her. Also, the romance at the end felt shoved in at the last minute and forced.

Writing was good and the world created was interesting. I kept having to remind myself that Wickney wasn’t an English city but that was probably a mistake only on my end. Both protagonists were damaged in their own way and I liked that they both found their own ways to heal. That said, I’m happy with this ending so I don’t think I’ll read book 2.

It was okay. Characters were well written and the celestials were an interesting concept. This wasn’t a book that I’d normally read so I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series but I’m happy I gave it a chance.

Which Way the Cast Jumps by Ava Silvers

Half of this book is missing. It just has to be. There is no way Ava Silvers meant to end this “book” after 16 chapters without wrapping up anything at all. Hopefully this was just an editing mistake but if this is her way of getting readers to buy her next book, I don’t think I’ll be reading anything else from her.

I think Greek mythology is interesting but this story just wasn’t for me. I’ve always had a little sympathy for Hephaestus so seeing him as the villain was a bit jarring. The romance was kinda unexpected but done well and I wish the different “gifts” were explored more. Not a bad book overall, but it just wasn’t for me.

The only reason it doesn’t get a perfect score from me is I can’t understand why she’s so hung up on Remy. He’s doing the absolute bare minimum for her so I think her devotion for him is unwarranted.
