we're reading at roughly the same pace ahahaha

race ya, hehe 😁 im soo absorbed in this book rn. also, it's interesting to read through the interviewer's liberal skepticism and interpretation of marxist "orthodoxy/dogma."

yea ! at parts i feel it feels kinda disrespectful ? like she doesnt fully believe that jiang qing believes what she says, shame cause witke seems like a lovely person

also how she characterizes so much political maneuvering as just "personal power struggles" rather than struggles between fleshed out political lines with real transformative impact on and backing from the masses.

i also dislike her characterization of working and "low-level" people as typically rigid, dogmatic, and not intellectually stimulating (as if marxism were holding back their real freedom of expression and essentially brainwashing them, as if they were forcing an ideology onto their vision of reality rather than demystifying ideology through applying scientific understanding of social reality to their own conditions, experiences, and actions).

but otherwise, yea i agree, she does seem nice and her interactions with Jiang Qing can be really fun at times, hehe.
